The holidays are a time for relaxation, cheer, and quality family time. Unfortunately, though, there are many ways that things can go amiss, especially when we throw the potential of a house fire into the mix. Here are some ways to avoid burning your home down this holiday (because that definitely doesn’t sound very holiday-like).
- Watch those candles on the table! Make sure the wax is pooling in a dish and that there is no chance for them to fall over and catch something flammable.
- Keep an eye on all cooking equipment, especially if you’re deep frying this season.
- Safe care for your heating equipment in the home, whether that’s through your chimney or an old, clanky heater.
- Don’t put anything firey near that Christmas tree. An old tree sitting in your living room would be quick to catch aflame.
