The wintertime can be problematic in many ways, especially for your roof if you don’t properly prepare for the snowfall. You wouldn’t want your roof to collapse in with a huge amount of snow. Here are some pieces of advice to prep your roof for the winter and its snow.
- Heating cables: With these running along your roof, you won’t have to worry about ice dams building up.
- Roof rakes: Similar to a rake used for leaves, you can easily remove the snow from your roof so it doesn’t build up.
- Roof coating: Adding a sealant can definitely be helpful. It won’t totally prevent snow buildup, but it’ll reduce it greatly.
- Roof additions: Putting an incline on your roof or adding metal shingles can help improve your wintertime.
